General Description
This is a Part-time position that involves technically skilled duties lifeguarding and providing instructional classes at Bicentennial Park Pool. This position reports directly to Aquatic Supervisor.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, and holidays; 25 hours per week.
TRAINING IS AVAILABLE FOR THE BELOW CERTIFICATIONS**
- CURRENT RED CROSS LIFEGUARD
- VALID FIRST AID
- VALID CPR/AED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER

Essential Functions
- Enforce all policies and procedures set forth by the Division of Parks and Recreation
- Assist with inventories/supplies for pool, complete surveys and track visitors at buildings
- Unlock and secure doors
- Weekly inspections of pool
- Teach swim lessons and water aerobics
- Promote pool schedules, classes, and special events
- Sets up and tears down pool equipment for activities and/or events
- Monitors weather and swimming conditions and ensure facility cleanliness standards are met
- Perform related work as required
Minimum Requirements
Education, Training and Experience:
- Must have graduated from high school or GED
- Must complete a swim test: swim 500 yards in less than 10 minutes, tread water for 2 minutes not using arms, time test, and underwater swim
- Must be available to work a flexible scheduled including weekends, and holidays
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Skills:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver License
- TRAINING PROVIDED for the following certifications:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard
- First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- MUST POSSESS WITHIN 30 DAYS (OR LESS) OF HIRE**

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to swim 500 yards in less than 10 minutes, tread water for 2 minutes not using arms, time test, and underwater swim
- Requires medium to heavy work that involves sitting, walking or standing virtually all of the time
- Involves frequently lifting and carrying 10 pounds and occasionally with to 50 to 75 pounds
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, depth perception, and texture perception
- The job may risk exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions and possible exposure to fumes and /or gases
