DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Everything needs lighting, from performances such as concerts, dance shows, plays, musicals, and comedy sets. The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Lighting Technician for our Cultural Art Department. The Town of Clayton employs more than 300 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The Town of Clayton also offers a range of PT positions including positions in Parks & Rec, Library, and Cultural Arts. This position is Part-Time “Roster” and is scheduled on an as needed basis. Evening and/or weekend availability required.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Lighting Technician will provide assistance for the operation of production lighting equipment for the Town of Clayton’s Clayton Center.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performing and adjusting lighting set-ups to fit rental client needs, including light designs and operations
- Program lighting equipment used during events, performances, and productions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with lighting equipment.
- Keeping current with latest lighting technology for future usage, and overseeing regular software up updates as they pertain to TCC lighting inventory
- Coordinate as needed with lead event staff and artists/rental clients to assist with set up of lighting request and determine technical requirements
- Serve as technical lighting representative for groups using the facilities
Special Requirements, Education & Experience
In addition to a Highschool Diploma this position requires:
- Knowledge of current lighting equipment operations.
- Ability to function efficiently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in designing attractive lighting that coordinates with the performance flow.
- Some degree of knowledge of commonly used theatrical terminology and methods
- Experience in a theatrical environment

Salary will be based on budget, education, experience, and equity. This position is a Salary Grade SG100, with a Hiring Range of $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
