Litigation Associate Attorney

A niche-focused law firm in San Pedro, CA is seeking a REMOTEAssociate Attorney in Raleigh, NCwith a passion for helping people to join their team. You will be working on litigation cases and seeking damages for clients that have been diagnosed with illnesses due to unknown toxic exposures to harmful chemicals/carcinogens. This role involves researching and investigating the case, preparing legal arguments, negotiating with opposing counsel or insurance companies, and advocating for your client in court.

The company is a small firm that is dedicated to helping hard working families become whole again who may have a loved one that is sick or have lost someone to illness due to exposure to things like asbestos or contaminated food and water. There are no billable hours!

Pay Range: $110,000 – $120,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client intake, with a focus on the recent campaign, and evaluate which cases are suitable for representation
  • Perform client vetting and assess the viability of potential cases
  • Manage cases related to toxic exposure in military housing and obtain compensation for clients
  • Stay up-to-date on new types of litigation and educate yourself accordingly
  • Work on NEC cases related to baby formula and conduct interviews with female clients to gain a better understanding of their pregnancy history
  • Assist with discovery and deposition processes once cases are underway
  • Attend weekly meetings and collaborate with support staff

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in litigation (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
  • Preferred experience in personal injury or medical malpractice cases
  • Female candidates preferred to promote diversity and women’s empowerment
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina
  • Proficiency in case management software, such as File Vine
  • Familiarity with federal court filing websites, including Pacer, ECF, and CMF
  • Proficient in Slack and Outlook
