JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the cleaning, sanitation and upkeep of the lobby and other hotel public areas. DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Essential
- Clean and maintain lobby area and other public areas
- Clean and maintain public & employee restrooms to include replenishment of essential items
- Clean, polish and maintain furniture and fixtures such as windows, doors, and elevators
- Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum public areas such as entrances, lobby, restrooms, and pool area
- Empty all ashtrays and urns
- Removes waste from trash receptacles in administrative offices
- Additional duties as necessary and assigned
Basic
- Keep work tools clean and organized
- Be courteous to all customers and fellow associates
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately for immediate action
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
Other
- Regular attendance in conformance with Attendance and Punctuality Policy
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Associates may be required to work varying schedules due to business needs.
- Full compliance of all Valencia Group rules and regulations. Associates in violation of hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performing the essential, basic, and other functions, this position may require the associate to perform a combination of the following functions:
- Cleaning of guest rooms
- Delivery of guest room amenities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing/Walking: Constantly. For varying lengths of time, often for long periods.
- Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Performing cleaning duties.
- Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Performing cleaning duties.
- Reaching (overhead/extension): Frequently. To dust items.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequently. Move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to perform duties.
- Pushing/Pulling: Frequently. Pushing 100 lbs. maximum.
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequently. Lifting 30 lbs. maximum.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Interior and exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
- Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
Qualifications
QUALIFACTION STANDARDS:
Education
High school or equivalent education preferred.
Experience
Prior cleaning experience in hotel or other commercial establishment preferred in a similar role as lobby attendant or porter.
Licenses or Certificates
Not applicable.
Grooming
All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance in compliance with Valencia Group’s appearance and dress code guidelines.
