The Retail Bank Compliance Local Governance team is seeking an Associate to help support the Governance function for Retail Bank Compliance Advisors. We are looking for an individual to help drive processes and projects to assist our Retail Advisor partners in providing value to their business clients and leadership. This role will require a mix of quantitative and qualitative work, with an emphasis on organization and communication skills. This person will help to ensure an effective and flexible compliance environment for our Retail Advisors by tracking and reporting metrics, escalating and working through risk issues, and improving existing processes.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinates, influences and negotiates with clients – ensures timelines are met and projects move forward; drives investigation and/or problem solving for projects
- Communicates and reports on Regulatory applicability tracking, NULAW assessment tracking, PRIME issues and events. Analyzes relevant data to help the Retail Advisors understand implications and determine next steps
- Assists the Retail Advisors with organization of quarterly reporting updates
- Uses research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to address any process or project impediments
- Initiates and implements process improvements for the Governance team to better assist Retail Advisors- by leveraging data from reports – in order to reduce Compliance Advisor impacts
- Creates presentations and puts data together into a meaningful format
Basic qualifications :
- High school diploma, GED, or military experience
- At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management, or Process Management, or Project Management
Preferred qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management, or Process Management or Project Management
- At least 1 year of experience in Compliance
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $99,500 – $113,600 for Sr. Risk Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
