Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required, supplemented by three years of experience in the locksmith trade; any related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Examination:
The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by an analysis of the application. Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to evaluate, repair, and install locks for County governmental facilities and structures
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Coordinates lock repairs and installations with contracted vendors.
Receives work order requests and performs lock system changes for doors, and high-security locks, and cuts new keys as needed.
Maintains tools and supplies for peak performance; prepares and submits requisitions for new supplies as needed.
Responds to emergency service calls and serve on a 24-hour on-call basis as required.
Additional Functions:
Performs other related duties as required.
