Description

The Dane County Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI is recruiting for one (1) LTE Event Operations Specialist.

Limited Term Employees (LTEs) are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.

DEFINITION

Under general direction, incumbent will act as manager on duty for events taking place at the Alliant Energy Center (AEC). They will assist AEC Event Coordinators with the successful execution of events.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Act as the primary show contact for events at the AEC. Read, interpret, and analyze detailed event plans in order to execute specific requirements. Liaise with event promoters and represent the AEC in a positive fashion. Work closely with in-house operations staff and third party contractors to facilitate event needs. Escalate issues to the appropriate contact. For certain events, support AEC event operations command center and facilitate requests via radio and phone. Coordinate with emergency responders in the case of an incident requiring medical or law enforcement response. Complete written, post-event reports in a timely fashion. Problem solve in a fast paced environment.
Education, Experience & Special Requirements

Education, Training and Experience:

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to high school graduation. Previous experience in event management, operations, or general management is preferred.

Special Requirements:

Must be available and willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed based on event requirements. Must be available to occasionally extend or flex schedules depending on the needs of the event. Must be willing to work on short notice when conditions require.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:
Ability to traverse stairs and move around the venues in a timely fashion, including covering long distances in a short time period. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, including moving about hard and irregular surfaces. Must be comfortable working in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Must be comfortable working in loud environments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must work well with others and function in a team atmosphere. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must have excellent customer service, leadership, and communication skills. Use initiative and independent judgment to make decisions within job guidelines. Ability to communicate via radio and cell phone. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Experience with common office equipment is preferred, including computers, Microsoft Office applications, and copy machines.
