Leidos is hiring for a Mailroom Clerk / Material Handler to work in the mailroom/warehouse in Augusta, Georgia. The Mailroom Clerk assists in the day-to-day operations of receiving, shipping, and inventory data entry for Leidos and government procured materials and equipment. The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for utilizing knowledge of Operations, Maintenance, and Repair industry tools and materials to perform logistics tasks such as receiving, inventorying, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the warehouse and from suppliers. The Mailroom Clerk has a solid understanding of the Leidos Logistics processes and procedures, implements attention to detail in following logistics procedures and record-keeping, inventories and places incoming orders on shelves, picks materials for internal distribution and use, monitors inventory and communicates shortages, and provides feedback for process improvement. You will be part of a team that creates the best customer service for a DoD Contract. This position is contingent upon contract award.
What you’ll be doing:
- Enhance product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
- Create and review procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
- Ensure rational distribution and delivery according to analysis report and tracking records.
- Participate in the day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs.
- Prepare requisition documents and forwards to applicable sources.
- Maintain the document register, assigns document numbers, and records the status and demand for material.
- Monitor the status of requisitions in the document register.
- Provide status to customers and maintains a register of cancelled requisitions.
- Conduct a monthly reconciliation of the document register and determines appropriate courses of action.
- Maintain stock control levels and reorders supplies.
- Maintain accountability of equipment and equipment/supply stockage.
- Participate in the conduct of routine market surveys.
- Maneuver in small spaces and lift up to 50lbs.
- Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting, and supply reports.
- Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents.
- Construct bins, shelving, and other storage aids.
- Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data.
- Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost, and parts data through improved maintenance management.
- Assist with the deployment and redeployment of personnel and equipment.
- Stand or sit for long periods of time, in addition to delivering materials or tools to site locations to meet customer requirements as needed.
What does Leidos need from me’
- Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required.
- Associate Degree in Logistics or Business Administration from an accredited university/college with four years of experience in military logistics; or BS degree with two plus years of experience, or military equivalent training in Logistics and six years of experience.
- Must be a well-organized and detail-oriented person in order to maintain mailroom/warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.
- Experience in the operation of office equipment such as word processors, secure telephones, and copiers.
- The ability to use existing logistics database programs to collect maintenance, supply, and logistics information for reports and briefings.
- Knowledge of packing and shipping requirements.
- Knowledge in shipping, receiving, storing, issuing stock control measures and accounting procedures.
- Knowledge in handling, movement, storage, and maintenance of ammunition, medical and food supplies.
- Fluent in the English language including the ability to read, write, and comprehend relevant logistics documentation.
- Basic knowledge in operating MS-Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Knowledge of basic military logistics, supply, and maintenance shop operations.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
- Valid driver’s license and clean record.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Favorable if you have:
- Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) experience.
- Knowledge of the Federal Supply System.
- Prior experience with operating a forklift and pallet jack. Prior experience with safe forklift operations a plus.
- Operators of powered industrial Material Handling Equipment (i.e., fork trucks, platform lift trucks, motorized hand trucks, etc.) will have or be able to obtain a special state license where needed or current certification card that indicates demonstrated proficiency of the equipment.
- Operators of certain sized vehicles will have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License from the state.
Pay Range: Pay Range $39,650.00 – $71,675.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
