2nd Shift About The Opportunity
Position Summary
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for supporting and coaching the Maintenance Technicians with a focus on serving as a technical resource, implementing preventive/predictive maintenance (PM/TPM) processes, and leading root cause investigations to help drive equipment efficiency. This person is responsible for creating and promoting an inclusive and innovative team environment.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Promotes and ensures team members comply with all appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
- Provides clear instruction, direction and participates in the execution of routine repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant reliability strategies, standards, and practices
- Responsible for determining priority and delegation of activities for maintenance & reliability employees
- Oversees/ Assists in diagnoses of mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary
- Follow up on completion of assigned daily tasks and/or work orders for department personnel
- Identify, order, track parts and supplies needed for equipment repair
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
- Supports operations by identifying and reviewing failures, downtime and lost production and partners with more senior team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and/or determine acceptable risk tolerance for assets
- Communicates to production and quality assurance about equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs
- Ensure that Maintenance Techs are providing proper and timely input for parts and work order completion.
- Interact with other shift leads daily and attends the daily Gemba walks
- Assist in improving the preventive/predictive maintenance plan (PM/TPM)
- Assists other workers with specific chores as requested
- Complete or assist with special projects as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential to this Position
- Hourly rate is $36.50 to $44/hr (based on experience) + $0.50/hr shift differential
- Profit sharing bonus
- Must be able to work 2nd shift – Monday thru Friday plus overtime on weekends (Within an 8 week span, will work 2 weekends, one scheduled and one on call. Weekend shifts are 12 hours, from 6pm-6am.)
- Must be able to work holidays – paid double time plus 8 hours holiday pay

At least 5 years of related experience

- Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively
- Ability to read a tape measure/ruler
- Good mathematical skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to read electrical prints
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate various tools such as drill, saw, mill, grinder, and welder
