RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Planner-Scheduler is to analyze work orders and production schedules to plan and schedule maintenance work. This includes the coordination of labor, parts and material, tools and equipment and equipment access. The incumbent will review and evaluate completed work orders, purchase parts and create kits for scheduled work orders to improve execution efficiency.

The Maintenance Planner-Scheduler is the principal contact person between the maintenance department and the plant departments served by Maintenance. This person ensures that the production areas have well planned jobs to select for Maintenance to perform that will enable the maintenance organization to provide prompt, efficient and quality service.

  • Examines all non-emergency work orders to be done and determines scope and best way to accomplish the work. Identifies and obtains materials required on the work order. Consults with requester, maintenance manager or maintenance technicians when necessary. Ensures safety needs are given a top priority in work planning and scheduling.
  • Develops and maintains planner reference systems (library) including a file of planned job packages for recurring jobs. Equipment and process specific labor and material information within the library are used to simplify the planning of new jobs.
  • Ensures completed work orders are filled out completely by the maintenance technicians. Carefully reviews completed schedules and corresponding work orders. Monitors work order progress and prepares associated reports.
  • Maintains and utilizes the company’s enterprise asset management system (EAM) and supports its use as a key management information tool. Ensures information is kept up to date and actively assesses and maintain BOM’s, critical spare parts and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Leads periodic Backlog Review and Schedule Review meetings with pertinent plant personnel.
  • Provides local team members support and training for use of the company’s enterprise asset management system (EAM).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements

  • Associates degree in technical field or minimum of three-years industrial maintenance experience
  • Proficient in data analytics and working with syndicated data
  • Strong pattern of initiative
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / degree in technical field or minimum of five-years industrial maintenance supervision experience.
  • 2+ years of maintenance work planning or equivalent.
  • Previously obtained Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or able to obtain within 18 months.

The base pay range for this position $63,000 to $84,000 per year and this position qualifies for a cost-of-living premium in addition to the base salary compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills set, level of experience, and specific office location.
