Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Department: Operations
Reports to: Head Maintenance Mechanic and/or Director of Maintenance/Operations
Niles Community Schools is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Mechanic. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Trade School or technical training desirable
- Evidence of knowledge and/or experience in a number of maintenance areas; knowledge of principles and practical aspects of all trades
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a general maintenance test.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform work as assigned by the Head Maintenance Mechanic and Director of Maintenance/Operations
- Work extra hours as necessary to remedy emergency situations when asked
- Assist and take direction from other departmental employees when working together or in absence of lead person
- Assume responsibility for tools and equipment used in daily work
- Inform the Director of Maintenance/Operations of building and grounds needs as observed
- Report on progress of work to the Head Mechanic and Director of Maintenance/Operations
