Posting Details
This posting will be used for 30 days to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until the position and/or positions have been filled.
Shift is 8 am to 5 pm.
Why does the job exist?
Incumbent will be responsible to provide services as it relates to the upkeep of the grounds and campus of the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute and to provide support to other disciplines within the Plant Department.
How does it get done?
Incumbent will provide up keeping for the NMBHI facility. That will include but not limited to picking up papers, trash, and other debris to keep grounds looking clean and to prevent pest infestation as well as the spread of disease. Trim trees, hedges, bushes, and fallen trees around campus as needed. Operate dump trucks or flatbed trucks for the purpose of removing trash, transporting materials, and/or equipment, and in the wintertime as part of the snow removal duties.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience with ground keeping;
Experience with operating and maintaining small equipment such as lawn mowers;
Experience with assisting carpenters, plumbers, painters and electricians as needed.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or Equivalent and three (3) months of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, plumbing, electrical and/or appliance repair. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions such as hot, cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow. Exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles. On call 24/7 during inclement weather.
