Everyday as Maintenance Specilaist you will:
- Maintain equipment and tools in proper working conditions and ensures proper storage. Ensure that time and materials are used in an efficient manner.
- Select materials required to perform assignment. Improve and request additional materials as appropriate.
- Complete work order documentation ensuring information is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that the work and shop areas are clean and organized. Remains aware of safety regulations in performing work and storage of materials.
- Perform comprehensive maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical work, lawn care, painting, patching/plastering, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and locksmith work.
- Assist in emergency situations that require being on call after hours.
- Lead the work of maintenance staff in projects related to area(s) of technical expertise.
- Acquire proper materials under the direction of the Supervisor and identify the needs and recommends alternative solutions.
- Maintain compliance with all training/learning requirements and take initiative in seeking opportunities for professional growth.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs general maintenance duties to provide for the safety and upkeep of the center building and grounds including the following:
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Qualifications
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
EXPERIENCE:
- One year experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting or electrical work or recognized trade.
- Requires computer skills and excellent communication skills.
- Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
- Must posess valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly requires walking, standing, and stooping/bending (1/2-3/4 of the work day).

- Requires lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling and repetitive wrist/hand motion (1/4-1/2 of the work day).
