Job Summary
Working independently under moderate supervision, performs planned and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, mechanical, life safety, and plumbing systems. Operates industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers and pumps. Operates life safety systems, including fire alarm and suppression systems. Incumbents are not permitted to deviate from standard practices and procedures, but may be permitted to set priorities, subject to supervisory approval.
Note : Must meet the requirements to be classified as a Regular Driver in accordance with Vehicle Use Policy Number 4.16. Shift work required – Must be able to work day, night, and weekend shift rotations, including overtime and holidays. The role hours are daytime shift between 7-3:30 PM, EST with occasional weekend rotation. The location for this role is at 4800 Deerwood Campus Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32246.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform preventive maintenance on building engineering systems.
- Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on building engineering systems.
- Build, modify, and repair furniture per provided drawings. Conduct large room setups for conferences.
- Operate and repair HVAC, mechanical, life safety, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Monitor vendor’s performance of major equipment systems maintenance
- Perform light carpentry and electrical work such as painting, drywall repairs and ballast changes.
- Monitor and operate critical facilities equipment using Automated Building Management System and inform management of any abnormalities discovered.

What You Must Have:

High school diploma or GED
Additional Required Qualifications
Knowledge of chiller plant operations.
Knowledge of basic maintenance of HVAC systems.
Knowledge of basic electrical operations and maintenance.
Experience reading blueprints and Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing plans.
Experience with pump, bearing, and fan motor replacements.
Experience Identifying and replacing faulty plumbing components.
Experience working on a computer in a Windows environment.
What We Would Prefer You Have:
Experience with emergency generating systems. Experience with Automated Building Management Systems. Knowledge of UPS systems and operations. Experience with HVAC equipment repairs Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial kitchen equipment.

Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
Physical/Environmental Activities
Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Occasionally May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions of cold, heat, wet, and humidity. Hourly Pay Range: $22 – $36
Typical Hourly Pay Range: $22 – $27
