Boeing is looking for Software Engineering Managers Located in Everett or Renton, Washington.

Help us define the future of software engineering in Boeing Commercial Airplanes! We are looking for strong leaders with a strong software background, interested in developing software for airborne systems, ground based tools and development environments.

Selected team members will lead software engineering teams, working with our software enterprise organization and BCA functional engineering (Avionics, Electrical Sub, Propulsion) , to implement world class software development practices and tools across our products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering.
  • Develops and completes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading teams in a formal or informal role
  • 2+ years of experience with SAE Standard ARP4754A, RTCA DO-178 or DO-254?

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with the Software Lifecycle from gathering requirements, testing to certification
  • 5+ years of experience with SAE Standard ARP4754A, RTCA DO-178 or DO-254
  • 2+ years of experience interacting with aerospace regulators, such as the FAA and EASA

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $147,000 – $198,950
