PURPOSE:
The Manager, Marketing and Communication is responsible for managing a team of communication professsionals and leading a cross-functional team to lead the marketing communications strategy development supporting CareFirst objectives. The incumbent will manage end-to-end strategy and execution of creative marketing projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the entire marketing communication life cycle process for all communications for the organization. Leads the development of strategic communication and marketing plans supporting business objectives. Partner with relevant business areas and customers to determine goals, develop marketing communication strategies, and ensure flawless execution. Acts as a liaison across multiple areas to ensure effective and efficient goals, scope, progress, and completion of projects.
- Evaluate effectiveness of all communications with metrics and reporting to management. Keep abreast of communication trends and best practices.
- Manages a team of communication professionals. Responsible for hiring, onboarding and development plans for all team members. Provide clear feedback and direction and support staff training and development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages 1-5 people.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 5 years professional marketing or communications experience with project management experience. 1 year supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- A proven track record of project management, including work plan development and management.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Progressive experience in a brand marketing and/or advertising role; experience in marketing programs, promotions, budget management and marketing strategy.
- Effective presentation, negotiation and influencing skills to interface with all levels of management.
- A keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously; sometimes under pressure and often with tight deadlines.
- Ability to establish strong relationships across departments, and with leaders at all levels, and an understanding of client needs, the consumer experience, marketing strategy and operational capabilities.
Salary Range: $94,160 – $174,785
