Job Description

This position is remote but candidates will need to be located in the New England area as travel in the market area is required.

I. Job Summary

Analyzes the profitability of Public Sector contracts; supports Senior Account Executives through the completion of market analysis and other related projects and tasks; and manages database activities. This position is ideal for candidates interested in advancing their career with WM’s Public Sector team.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
  • Models, analyzes and reviews existing municipal work with the objective of determining profitability and identifying sources of underperformance.
  • Reviews profit and loss statements vis-à-vis municipal contract proformas for compliance with company profitability objectives and contract targets.
  • Prepares competitive market analysis reports by analyzing municipal contracts obtained via FIOA requests.
  • Utilizes information garnered from WM Contracts and public sources to generate selling tools for Public Sector Senior Account Executives, such as comparative price analyses.
  • Manages database tracking activities, including but not limited to Salesforce.

IV. Qualifications

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Three years of relevant (sales, operations, financial) work experience – in addition to education requirement.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Strong analytical skills and a familiarity with basic financial concepts are required. A background in Sales and /or negotiating is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in Excel. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.

  • Normal setting for this job is: remote with 10% travel within market area.

The salary range for this position is $70,495- $103,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus.
