Manages site employee health programs and services; focusing on the promotion and restoration of health, prevention of work related illness and injury, and the protection from work related and environmental hazards. Administers and evaluates Employee Health Services (EHS) policies, ensuring legal regulatory and ethical compliance while maintaining consistency with organizational goals and objectives. Conducts employee health screenings and provides assessment of employee injuries.
Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Employee Health Services team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Ensures site compliance with federal, state and local legislations and regulations.
- Manages resources including supplies, equipment, staff and information.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Manages site wide employee health programs; conducts annual health screenings and administers immunizations, as needed.
- Conducts surveillance and follow-up on occupational exposures including but not limited to needle sticks, injuries, and other infectious disease exposures.
- Performs return to work clearance, including any communications necessary with employees’ care providers.
- May perform pre-placement health clearance for new hires inclusive of obtaining a health history and physical exam.
- Assess and maintain a safe environment for EHS that is conducive to positive health teaching and maintenance and employees’ expectations of care and privacy.
- Participates as a member of healthcare team at site and the health system level and various interdisciplinary committees to improve health services care and meet employee needs.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner OR a Registered Nurse in New York State, required.

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$160,000/year
