About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for Sr Manager, Engineering to join our Tux & Mobile Engineering team.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the complete software development life cycle (SDLC) of the applications/solutions and manage projects with significant business impact.
- Work closely with product manager & business stakeholder in developing a strategy and road map to achieve business goals.
- Work closely with architects & engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for product/application development.
- Establish best practices for software development and documentation, testing and deliver high-quality work on-budget & on-schedules.
- Facilitate business requirements being translated into good technical design, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to build optimal solutions.
- Project management – prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.
- Operational Excellence – monitoring & operation of production applications.
- Lead a team of engineers – Hire new talent, offer coaching and development opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education.
- 10+ years of Software Development experience; 2+ years of experience in building and leading engineering teams.
- Hands-on technical expertise in coding (java, javascript or swift) and system design/architecture.
- Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development
- Software development experience in building highly scalable applications, microservices, web site and/or mobile application.
- Experience with CI/CD processes, Containers, GitOps, test automation and cloud deployments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Managed a team of 4+ engineers
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a hybrid office location near our Fremont Corporate Office
$120,000 – $199,900. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
