The Environmental & Regulatory Programs Manager will centralize the responsibility for knowing U.S. product requirements for EAI such that Epson products can legally be imported, commercialized, maintained, and disposed of in the market. Own and develop EAI’s recycling program and communicate and distribute consumer and commercial environmental documents and certifications as required, while participating in environmental criteria programs.
This position can be 100% remote or it can be based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with a hybrid schedule.
What you will doing:
- Develops, communicates, and distributes EAI public environmental documents and basic environmental product certifications as requested by product management, customers, other external stakeholders
- Monitors and assists in required packaging and labeling procedures needed to keep products compliant with local market requirements. Proactively communicate these processes to operations, sales, and administrative functions
- Ensures product certifications and licenses are maintained
- Participates in regulatory agency meetings as required
- Develops and maintains EAI’s environmental logos and participates in environmental criteria NGO (Non-government organizations) programs
- Supports ISO 14001 external and internal communication
- Develops, manages and audits EAI product stewardship & takeback programs
- Audits recyclers and maintains annual metrics, goals, and website communication
- Manages mandatory Epson regulatory reports to prevailing departments as required by company policy
- Participates in Epson and trade association regulatory meetings as required
Department Accountabilities
- Supports sales teams and service centers with product regulatory documents as required by tenders and customer compliance
- Collaborates with local teams to obtain regulatory certifications and maintains regulatory agency cooperation and communication
Relationship Management:
- Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, and developing group/department personnel
- Provides coaching and mentoring to team members
- Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problematic conditions that require escalation
- Builds strong relationships with peers and senior management to best meet company goals and objectives
- Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price/ product, etc.)
- Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations
Department Management:
- Operates within budgetary constraints
- Participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required
- Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures
- Directly contributes to the development of tactical and annual operating plans by defining goals and objectives for the group
What you will bring:
- 5-8 years experience with environmental regulatory programs and sustainability initiatives
- 2+ years experience managing direct reports
- Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A. or B.S.)
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $103,927 and $142,899. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
