The Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) team helps PepsiCo navigate the increasingly volatile and complex policy and regulatory landscape in which our company operates. By anticipating opportunities and risks, we facilitate positive environments and avoid discriminatory regulations. Further, our proactive engagement with a range of external stakeholders ensures PepsiCo has a seat at the negotiating table and allows us to help shape fair policies that are science-based and protect consumer choice.

This is a hybrid position located in Purchase, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global colleagues to drive agenda and strategic objectives for PepsiCo’s Executive Engagement Center of Excellence (CoE), a group within the broader Corporate Affairs (CA) function
  • Develop strategic briefing documents for the CEO, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) and senior executive team to inform and guide engagement with government officials and other key global stakeholders; ensure work product is informative, clear and aligned with broader business initiatives
  • Manage and lead a small team of direct reports who provide input on CoE and CA projects, with a focus on writing and research to support our objectives
  • Be part of the team that helps outline the CoE’s strategic objectives and progress on key policy issues through slide decks and memoranda for the CEO, CCAO, Board of Directors, and other key senior executives
  • Manage the development of infographics to help CA tell the PepsiCo story visually and explain complicated issues to key stakeholders
  • Leverage knowledge of public policy and government affairs to track and analyze global issues and how they may impact PepsiCo’s business and CA’s strategic agenda
  • Drive and promote knowledge-sharing within Corporate Affairs through regular communication with global colleagues and using digital tools (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint)
  • On an ad-hoc basis, supplement CA projects and act as a force-multiplier for the function’s activities

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $91,100 – $152,450
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Use terms below as applicable for annual or quarterly bonus, premium bonus, LTI, etc.:]
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out Annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., government, public policy, communications)
  • 5+ years of experience in an applicable professional capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and visual communication skills, including editorial experience
  • Passion and interest in public policy and government affairs
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadline with minimal supervision
  • General knowledge of global public policy issues, trends and business challenges, ability to analyze policy and legislative/regulatory proposals a plus
  • Ability to translate public policy issues for different audiences (e.g., executives, business, external stakeholders)
  • Critical attention to detail
  • Ability to voice opinions fearlessly and bring new perspective to the organization
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization in support of defined objectives
  • Experience working with global offices and as part of a matrixed organization
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel
