NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$118,500 – $201,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

The Facilities Projects & Construction Management Group, 4830, is looking for two a well-qualified and enthusiastic technical leaders to be a Manager, Facilities of Department 4830 (Project & Construction Management)! Our Team provides project and construction management services for buildings and infrastructure to support current and future mission needs at Sandia National Labs.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Utilize experience in facilities and infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and operation to guide the work of the department.
  • Understand the work of the organization and connect the work and expertise of the organization with potential beneficiaries, collaborators, and customers.
  • Promote excellence by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements.
  • Ensure that customer needs are satisfied through the creation of trust-based relationships.
  • Apply organization knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with customer expectations.
  • Oversee and manage members of the workforce, within the organization, including hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or other technical field related to Facilities Management plus eight (8) or more years of experience in facilities project/construction management; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience (Associates degree in a technical field related to Facilities plus twelve (12) years of experience in facilities project/construction management; Master’s degree in a technical field related to Facilities plus four (4) years of experience in facilities project/construction management; HS Diploma plus sixteen (16) years of experience in facilities project/construction management).
  • Ability to acquire and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Two or more years of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Professional registrations and/or certifications in Facilities related areas such as: Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Certified Facilities Manager, Registered Architect.
  • Broad knowledge of SNL processes, policies and procedures related to procurement, finance, and facilities.
  • Proven ability to manage annual budgets.
  • Broad and balanced Facilities-related experience (systems engineering, operations, project delivery, planning, and/or design).
  • Experience related to Laboratory missions and mission delivery at SNL.
  • Experience or certification in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) quality process improvement.
  • Experience with design standards and specifications.
  • Experience and knowledge in safety related programs related to OSHA 1926, and 10 CFR 851.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other technical field related to Facilities Management.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management, project scheduling and risk management.

The projects delivery team is responsible for design, construction, commissioning and turnover to operations of all facility projects. This includes small value, customer funded, capital projects. This also includes the construction management and support services for the full execution of the projects.
