Position: Manager I, System Engineering

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Migrate SQL databases from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019. Test the connectivity of all applications with new database servers. Set up Change Data Capture (CDC) in SQL Servers. Set up Prometheus alerts and MMS dashboards for custom applications and database servers. Remediate security vulnerabilities for Jira and Confluence. Implement Disaster Recovery (DR) Plans for Jira and migrate the instances to CDC. Provision Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage accounts to migrate the .NET on-premise application to Azure Cloud. Set up Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes to deploy applications to Azure from the Development to Staging to Production Systems using Looper, Concord, and Proximity. Work on GIT branching, merging, and pushing code changes to the central repository. Integrate GIT into Looper to automate the code check-out process using webhooks. Automate deployments of App Services to Managed ASE. Automate deployments of WebJobs in existing App Services. Create new DNS entries and modify existing DNS entries. Add new custom domains in Azure App Services. Set up AppVault and store all the passwords and secrets in AppVault. Integrate the AppVault to the Azure App Service. Work with AzCopy utility to copy data from the Common Internet File System (CIFS) to a storage account and copy data to, from, and between storage accounts. Work on Azure SQL Managed Database Administration and set up Disaster Recovery (DR) Plans for the databases. Work on the OneOps Cloud Management Platform to develop, launch, and maintain new products and applications. Work on scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell to automate tasks on Linux and Windows. Migrate applications from On-Prem to Azure Cloud to minimize the costs and manage infrastructure. Help with Jira 8 and Confluence 7 upgrades. Use Dynatrace for application performance management. Configure Dynatrace for multiple applications. Work on Operational Excellence by applying the right tools to the right processes and troubleshooting all application performance issues. Submit Solution Security Plans (SSP) for applications. Work with the Information Security (InfoSec) Team to get approvals. Decommission Linux and Windows Servers that are no longer being used. Work and resolve Jira indexing issues. Support PHP and Java Custom Applications. Resolve environment related issues. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of systems engineering experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 2 years of systems engineering experience.

Skills required: Experience managing and administering Windows 2012 R2/2019 Servers, CentOS Linux Servers, SQL and Server 2017/2014. Experience with Configuration Management tools, including OneOps. Experience managing storage accounts using Azure Storage Explorer. Experience managing certificates using Venafi. Experience scripting in at least one of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, or Groovy. Experience updating code using GIT. Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) setups using Jenkins. Experience setting up alerts in Splunk. Experience working on Jira and Confluence UI Administration, including plugin management, workflows, and schemes. Experience designing and administering Jira and Confluence backend systems and infrastructure. Experience monitoring and alert set up using Nagios. Experience performing upgrades of Jira and Confluence. Experience with On-Prem, Hybrid, and Public Clouds. Experience designing application environments with high availability and disaster recover. Experience managing and troubleshooting Java applications. Experience with ITIL and problem, incident, and change management. Experience migrating applications to public, private, or hybrid clouds. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $141,378/year to $144,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
