The Business Development Associate, Apparel, at Walmart is responsible for supporting the effort to transform our Apparel business, foster internal and external collaboration, and partner with leadership to drive key initiatives. Ultimately, your goal is to help transform Apparel at Walmart.
What you’ll be working on
- Enable our customers to shop when, where, and how they want.
- Drive Apparel strategy and transformation, helping to champion the vision of one of the largest Apparel businesses in the world.
- Partner with senior leaders to set and achieve ambitious goals.
- Analyze the competitive landscape to understand trends that are shaping the industry and help identify opportunities for Walmart Apparel growth and differentiation.
Responsibilities
The Business Development Associate, will be a part of the Apparel Group and will play an integral role in transforming the Apparel business at Walmart. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Apparel Business Development, and will work closely with leaders in Merchandising, Marketing, Site Experience, Editorial, Operations, Marketplace, and other Walmart corporate teams.
- Support partnering with cross functional teams (e.g., marketing, planning, finance) to identify growth opportunities and drive Apparel strategic initiatives. Project manage cross functional initiatives as needed.
- Support fact-based decision making by performing analytics as needed.
- Support Apparel strategy and transformation initiatives and meetings, evaluate and drive improvements to operational processes.
- Assist with communication strategies that facilitate the flow of information between key Apparel stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Lead material preparation for major EVP presentations (e.g., Supplier Growth Summit)
- Assist Merchants in National Brand partnerships by supporting top-to-top meetings.
- Lead Apparel Quarterly All Hands Meetings agenda creation and preparation of materials
- Aid in Northeast Town Halls and associate engagement
- Research and analyze market data and competitive landscape to understand market trends and identify opportunities for growth and differentiation; refresh annual relevant macro trends presentation for Apparel organization.
- Own and update Apparel Leadership milestone calendar

Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strategy consulting / investment banking experience preferred.
- Retail / fashion / ecommerce/ merchandising experience preferred.
- Interest in Apparel/Fashion a must

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$139,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
– Stock equity incentives
