Manager II, Sterile Processing – Travel

Position Summary

Oversees the management and facilitates production, projects, and quality within Customer IPS engagements. Ensures Customer’s expectations are met by managing activities and complying with contractual obligations. Provides on-site support, training and communication to contracted facilities sterile processing department management and personnel. Ensures SPD compliance with the Department of Health, JC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facility policies and procedures. This position requires up to 100% travel. Sign-on bonus!

Duties

LEADERSHIP

  • Ability to develop and manage an engaged team to provide excellent day-to-day service that meets the Customer’s needs and contractual obligations
  • Focused on continuous improvement and possesses the ability to engage and coach
  • Interviews, hires, assists with training, coaches and disciplines employees to meet company objectives and Customer requirements
  • Possesses the ability to build and maintain a culture of EE Engagement and Retention through regular communication and on-going training
  • Utilize staffing tools and communicate to Customer the appropriate staff mix and properly align staff with fluctuating demand

CUSTOMERS

  • Ensures delivery of Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and conducts regularly scheduled meetings with Customer(s) to review quality metrics
  • Ability to mentor the front-line leadership team in building relationships with the Customer service line coordinators
  • Develop higher level relationships within the Customer organization including but not limited to OR Managers, Directors & V.P.’s including the ability to manage Customer expectations within the scope of work.
  • Resolves client issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of the contract(s) and supports with educating and training Customer leadership in all aspects of contracted services

OPERATIONS/PROCESSES

  • Demonstrates complete understanding of the STERIS standard processes and possesses the ability to implement and hold the team accountable through leadership routines
  • Ensures proper operational processes are followed by all members of the STERIS team in conjunction with the Department of Health JC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN standards and facilities goals and policies
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all administrative documents and functions (time records, count sheets, inventories, billing, etc.) required by the Customer and STERIS
  • Manages an operating budget for STERIS and understands that all decisions can have a financial impact and manages within the budget

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of leadership experience in SPD or related field or High School diploma with 8+years of SPD experience with 5 years of leadership role in SPD or related field
  2. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (4+ Years)
  3. Must have experience in process management and quality control (3+ Year)
  4. Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or HSPA required. If not certified at point of hire, it must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  5. Must maintain valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and be available to operate a vehicle as needed to meet travel requirements.
  6. Must be able to travel across the US and pass the Customer’s background and medical standards for credentialing purposes.

Preferred Experience

  1. Instrument tracking software and employee management system experience (1+ Years)
  2. Medical instrument knowledge (1+ Years)
  3. Knowledge of Sterile Processing, Operating Room and Material Management functions a plus (1+ Years)

Skills

  1. Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  2. Possess an understanding of accountability tools – Coaching documents, MBOs, Performance Reviews
  3. Ability to stay calm and maintain a high level of professionalism under high pressure situations
  4. Ability to conduct root cause analysis
  5. Ability to build project plans

Pay range for this opportunity is $77,800.00 – $104,727.00.This position is eligible for bonus.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.

Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption. There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed.
