In the 2023-24 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating almost 3,000 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
- KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten – 3rd grade, 6th – 8th grade
- KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bold City High School: 9th – 11th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am – 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am – 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
- High School Staff: 6:45am – 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am – 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
KIPP Jacksonville seeks a Manager of Instructional Talent Development and Support who will provide multi-disciplinary services and supports for our growing region so that all students are on a path to college and career readiness. The role is being created to give extra capacity to the team as we add more teachers to our region so that we are able to support them on their career trajectories. The Manager of Instructional Talent Development and Support will lead certification compliance, collect teacher experience data and strategically respond to talent needs across the organization.
The Manager of Instructional Talent Development and Support must have a deep knowledge of the certification process (including how to obtain certification, certification flags, renewal, etc), data analysis skills, and adult learning facilitation experience. The Manager of Instructional Talent Development and Support will work with a variety of stakeholders including the shared services team (regional team), school leadership, HR, and recruitment teams.
The position is year-round on the shared services team and may perform other duties, as assigned by their manager. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of School Leadership. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but can vary based on role and season. Some attendance at events outside of normal hours may be needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
Certification
- Maintain records of instructional staff certification
- Prep Individualized Certification Plans
- Ensure teammates are enrolled in and progressing through ESOL, Gifted or Reading Endorsement coursework
- Share resources for how to convert non-instructional staff to certified staff by obtaining certification
- Support new hires that have been hired into instructional roles to ensure they are fully able to matriculate to the team and that certification won’t be a barrier
Instructional Staffing & Retention
- Support School Leaders and staff through Intent to Return season by ensuring teammates are in the right seats
- Share ITR eligibility lists with HR and request new documents as eligibility changes
- Manage the internal transfer process
- Make sure HR and Recruitment stay abreast of any staffing changes
- Ensure all new staff is enrolled in 15Five or School Mint Grow (as appropriate) to ensure timely feedback
- Track staffing and quality of contractors
- Adjust the model to account for the addition of grant-funded positions while making sure we stay compliant with those positions
- Staffing model changes to accommodate school growth
- Review TNTP data and data from stay and exit interviews
- Make recommendations to leadership regarding staffing and changes to increase retention
- Monitor 15Five region-wide climate data
- Create and monitor mentor teacher program
Partnerships
- Manage KIPP Jacksonville’s partnership with The Schultz Center
- Manage contracts with TFA or other agencies
- Maintain relationship with charter authorizer and FLDOE
- Create new partnerships as needed with post-secondary institutions to enable any coursework requirements for certification
COMPENSATION*
- The annual salary range for this position is $53,000 – $57,000

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS

- 2 or more years of experience in talent management or related role
- A professional K-12 education certification
- Experience with compliance, record keeping, and managing or auditing processes
- Experience with 15Five or other staff morale/performance management software
