The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an experienced (1 ) Manager, Instrument Shop for the Department of Physics and Astronomy Instrument Shop.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for the Leadership of the operations for the Department of Physics and Astronomy Instrument Shop. In this role, the Manager, Instrument Shop will be responsible for scheduling work, overseeing/managing shop personnel, and keeping records for billing, purchases, receiving, and more. Requires specialized knowledge of the instructional and research laboratories and assumes overall responsibility for designing and repairing instruments used in those labs.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Instrument Shop are the following:
• Managing and assigning workload for Physics and Astronomy shop personnel.
• Billing for shop services, orders, purchases, and receiving materials and supplies.
• Design and repair of research or instructional instruments and equipment.
• Assist faculty, staff, and students in designing, constructing, and procuring research instrumentation.
• Developing and managing shop safety protocols.
• Developing and managing a maintenance program for shop equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- Post-high school trade or technical with a combination of work experience, including training and education and 3 years of experience.
