The Opportunity
The University of Central Florida (UCF) Rosen College of Hospitality Management is seeking qualified candidates for a Marketing Communications Manager. The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for managing communications, marketing, and public relations strategies and efforts within the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Communications and Marketing professionals promote the University to internal and external audiences, market the University’s services, engage the local community in reference to University’s activities, and perform government relations and legislative liaison activities. Marketing Professional develop, implement, and/or execute marketing disciplines and other work not covered in other communications and marketing job subfamilies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of marketing and communications for the Rosen College.
  • Ensure brand identity consistency within the UCF brand. Strategic and results-driven approach to communication with faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive communications and marketing plan that supports the organizations’ strategic goals and reaches a diverse constituent base across all media including publications, video, web, Digital, and social media.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize strategic goals for communication.
  • Develop, evaluate, and disseminate key messages for print and digital assets, ensuring that messages and materials are lined to a common and agreed-upon set of core values.
  • Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with key partners throughout UCF’s marketing department(s).
  • Develop and continually manage a system to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications-related initiatives.
  • Determine the need for and oversee the execution of marketing collateral and marketing materials, including content management of the College’s Website.
  • Mentor and lead staff, providing strategic leadership and vision in directing the activities of the marketing and communications team, ensuring culture and practice of shared resources in creative services, digital strategy, publications development, and dissemination including social media.
  • Work with vendors and external partners to help support the college’s mission and expand strategic enrollment and student success initiatives for both domestic and international students.
  • Develops and leads in the completion of internal survey needs.
  • Work with faculty to develop, share, disseminate, and translate impactful research-based stories to increase brand and reputation to a wide range of audiences, including current & prospective students, academics, industry professional, and community leaders.
  • Excellent public speaking and writing capability.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in setting strategic priorities.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Tourism & Hospitality Industry Knowledge.
