NRDC is seeking a Manager of Digital Fundraising Operations to work with the Communications team in our New York office.
Position Summary
NRDC is seeking qualified candidates to apply for this position managing core administrative, financial, data, vendor management, invoicing, and record keeping functions of a high-volume digital fundraising and advocacy team. The position is on the Digital Advocacy and Fundraising team, in NRDC’s Communications Department, which plans and executes digital advocacy and fundraising campaigns that engage NRDC’s and the NRDC Action Fund’s over 3 million members and supporters in our urgent policy fights and raises millions of dollars online to support our mission.
This manager is crucial to the smooth and efficient operation of a growing digital program. Ideal candidates will have 4-5 years’ experience in an operations role on a digital team, preferably but not limited to nonprofit or other advocacy organizations or electoral campaigns. Preferred candidates will also have experience working in digital fundraising or digital advocacy and experience with eCRM tools like Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Springboard, or other similar systems.
Responsibilities
- Producing regular and ad hoc online fundraising revenue reports.
- Reconciling transactions with Development, Finance, and other departments, updating donor records, etc.
- Producing and assisting in the production of ad hoc reports, including campaign wrap-up reports, revenue updates, list counts, etc.
- Using our suite of CRM and reporting tools (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Springboard, Tableau, etc.) to download data, run reports, etc.
- Assist in coordinating data and CRM projects and initiatives with others on DAF and with NRDC’s IT team, which manages our CRM tools. Includes working closely with Salesforce DBAs in the IT Department.
- Manage relationship with 3rd party revenue vendors, like PayPal, Meta/Facebook, ActBlue, GoFundMe, Stripe, etc., and downloading and tracking revenue from them.
- Manage merchant account relationships with vendors like Braintree, PayPal, etc. Confirm seamless flow of revenue from processors to bank account.
- Manage expense budgets, and track vendor contracts, invoices, etc.
- Provide critical back-end data support for NRDC’s monthly sustainer giving program.
- Triage technical issues in response to donor/member inquiries.
- Assist team and IT in technical and data management projects related to CRM development.
- Provide some eCRM production back up to the department’s two-person email and form production team.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years’ experience in a similar operations-related role on a digital team, preferably in a nonprofit fundraising or advocacy environment.
- Strong data management and data analysis skills, and experience running and producing reports.
- Experience with and knowledge of key eCRM tools like Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Springboard, ActionKit, EveryAction, etc.
- Strong organizational abilities and invoice and record keeping skills.
- Strong Excel and other database skills, with a heavy emphasis on Excel and ability use its advanced functionality to extrapolate, manipulate and formulate data.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver strong written products on short deadline when .
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $100,000 to $106,000.
Our offices are open and we are operating in a hybrid model. We offer NRDCers flexibility, and we ask them to come into the office and spend meaningful time there in collaboration with their colleagues. We call this purposeful presence.
