We are looking for a highly driven and detail oriented Payroll Tax Manager to process payroll and payroll tax reconciliations, manage multi-state tax reporting and withholding, audit vendor prepared tax filings/payments, and payroll tax research. This role will be responsible for improving business performance, operational effectiveness, and efficiency through Workday Payroll.
With our growing business, the ideal candidate must work effectively in a self-directed environment, taking initiative and proactively improving processes with alignment from the key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of combined experience in Payroll and Accounting at a global company. This role is hybrid and is based out of our New York offices.
What You’ll Do
- US Payroll Operations
- Manage reconciliations of wage and tax payments
- Monitor vendor-prepared wage payments and tax filing/payments using ADP SmartCompliance to ensure payments are made timely and accurately
- Manage payroll tax account master sheet
- Manage, Negotiate and settle tax notices
- Quarter end and year end reconciliations and amendments
- Lead and manage annual W-2 activities
- NAM Payroll Tax Compliance
- Serve as internal payroll tax subject matter expert
- Ongoing policy review and proposals to ensure payroll compliance for the US and Canada
- Establish best practices for the Company’s multi state payroll and make timely adjustments to comply with legislation changes
- Support and collaborate with other teams
- Collaborate with Tax, Accounting and Equity teams to build smooth workflows
- Cross training with payroll operations team members
- Lead relevant projects to improve payroll tax compliance and operation efficiency
Who You Are
- 8+ years of payroll experience at a global organization with multi-state payroll expertise
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Payroll experience at a publicly listed company is required
- CPP, FPC and/or CPA is desirable
- Experience with Workday Payroll, ADP SmartCompliance, NetSuite, etc.
- Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to collaborate with management and others in the company
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills, and attention to detail
Where You’ll Be
- Hybrid role based in our New York offices (2 to 3 days a week required)
- Working hours? We operate within the Eastern time zone for collaboration
The United States base range for this position is $89,557-$127,938, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
