As a manager, Program Management you will help us succeed in our current to future-looking initiatives. This role will be integral to help strategize, synthesize, organize, and drive priority of the work while helping to amplify interdependencies between architectural, industrial design, storytelling, brand, construction, catalogue, and flagship efforts within Global Concepts.

In Global Concepts, we lead the multi-disciplinary design and innovation of our holistic store experience ecosystem, globally evolving our brand through future-focused prototypical executions and cross-functional collaborations that deliver scalable strategies, systems, storytelling, and standards.

This position is also integral to how we cross-functionally collaborate and communicate within the company to achieve the best results. Key collaborators include Operations, Ops Engineering, Tryer, Marketing, Market Planning and Formats, Starbucks Technology, Procurement, Digital Retail Experience, Store Development and Siren Retail.

As a manager, program management, you will…

Business Requirements – Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities:

  • Leads project teams to develop and implement programs and process improvements.
  • Represents the business unit, department, or functional area on cross-functional project teams providing expertise to assess potential financial and operational impact.
  • Manages overall program work plans, defining approach, timing, key deliverables, and progress tracking.
  • Able to successfully adapt to shifting priorities while continuing to assess the overall health of existing programs, priorities, and teams.
  • Makes timely and quality decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, andjudgment.

Plans & Executes – Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, and measuring results:

  • Develops long-term strategies and plans including project charters, scope, and audit plans.
  • Forecasts resource requirements both internally and externally to ensure success.
  • Drives decisions through influencing decision makers, and balancing risk and uncertainty across multiple projects, programs, and functions.

Leadership – Set goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model how we work together:

We’d love to hear from people with…

  • 8 years managing large-scale business projects Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary program and project execution, to achieve successful outcomes in a highly cross-functional environment, leading and influencing through others and driving change across organizational boundaries.
  • 8 years application of industry-based project management methodologies and tools with the proven ability to stay organized across competing priorities.
  • 8 years general business experience in large, matrixed organizations with the ability to function effectively and collaboratively in a highly ambiguous environment with the flexibility to change course as required to respond to new situations quickly and decisively.
  • Superb and succinct communication skills, including the development of presentation material for large organizations and senior leadership teams.
  • Strong meeting management and facilitation skills, leveraging hybrid working tools; ability to flex style to different audiences across mediums to yield desired objectives/outcomes; ability to ‘read the room,’ to know what is possible and what is not, and how to navigate any situation efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite. Knowledge and capabilities with data organization and visualization tools (Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) a plus!
