Manager, Program Management, Hardlines ACES

Amazon’s Retail ACES Strategic Programs team seeks an experienced and motivated Manager, program management, to drive improvements within our vendor support processes and generate incremental free cash flow.

ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence System) is Amazon’s program for driving process and customer experience improvement. ACES brings together the tools of Lean, Six Sigma, technology, and Amazon’s customer-obsessed culture, to create process excellence. The North America Stores (NAS) ACES Process Excellence team works on behalf of Retail employees and Selling Partners to drive process efficiency, reduce defects, and deliver financial savings through continuous improvement projects.

The Manager, Program Manager will led a team of Program Managers to develop, standardize, and automate processes to drive efficiency and scalability for the Retail Programs. They will work closely with engineering, product management, operations, marketing, and Retail to improve the Selling Partner experience and drive business results through continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has experience successfully hiring and developing Program Management teams. They are able to set a vision for a team and put the right mechanisms in place to keep team members focused on delivering against it. They are highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with, and influence, key stakeholders. They have a proven track record of looking around corners and thinking big to develop creative solutions to difficult problems. They are highly autonomous and have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key job responsibilities
• Leading a team of program managers – hire, manage, and develop a team
• Working with Business teams and using data to identify and prioritize high impact improvement opportunities
• Leading process improvement projects to address key cross functional issues impacting vendors
• Delivering Financial Savings through projects
• Designing and implementing mechanisms to improve Operational Excellence Culture
• Driving consistency of process, training, and reporting across functional teams
• Providing periodic project updates, including major successes/challenges, to senior management
• Managing and constantly improving the idea management (ideation to implementation) process
• Building relationships and identifying with stakeholders across the organization
• Understanding how to thrive in ambiguous environments and leading teams without line of sight to a clear solution in the short term

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of team management experience

– 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

– 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience

– 5+ years of program or project management experience

– Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– MBA

– Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
