Manager Repairs and MRO

Job Summary

Provides leadership & technical support to the Repairs & MRO organization, ensuring Air Methods’ compliance with all existing regulatory and company policies/procedures. Manages operations of the Repairs & MRO employees and owns disposition of all repairable assets in accordance with the highest ethical standards and company guidelines. Accountable leader for MRO vendor selection and for work scopes of all repair/overhaul services of AMC assets. Directly accountable for ISR related to repair & MRO services driven through the Repairs & MRO team. Owns all Direct Maintenance Costs and the budget for such costs, near $75M – $100M in spend

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead the Repairs & MRO organization, the company’s repairable assets and the repair vendor’s to best support the AMC fleet and business needs. Lead repairable asset’s processing, flow and TaT’s with the AMC planning and purchasing groups.
  • Accountable for ensuring the most reliable and cost competitive repair sources are utilized. Recommend new repairable vendors and lead other departments in adding new repair vendors to the approved vendor list
    • Accountable for all repair reportable metrics; TAT, cost, support.
  • Process and create purchase and repair orders to vendors for the repair of overhaul components.
    • Develop and maintain reports to aid management in reportable metrics on team and supplier performance.
  • Monitor repair orders cycle times and repairable assets “in work” for timely and correct vendor processing/fulfillment, strive for continuous reduction of repair’s TaT, and lead supplier SLA process for repairs/MRO suppliers
  • Research ownership, contracts and warranty for assets, as required to ensure repairable are processed as per applicable requirements and that the party responsible for the cost is appropriately identified.
  • Lead research, coordinate and supply data to other AMC departments for incident, insurance or part loss claims, as required.
  • Work closely with Manufacture(s)/repair vendors to obtain cost savings and improve vendor support/services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Repairs & MRO organization. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university and 7+ years’ related experience or training; or related experience over 10+ years in an aviation supply chain position, including sourcing, procurement, MRO and Inventory
  • Knowledge of FAA and FAR regulations 7-10 years of Strategic Sourcing/Procurement experience, Performance Measurement, Contract Negotiation, Project Management, Category Management, Business Analysis, or Change Management experience preferred
  • 10+ years of industry and category specific experience in one of the following categories: Aircraft Parts & Services, Fuel, Medical Supplies, MRO, IT, Corporate and Professional Services, or Transportation and Logistics.
  • Knowledge of FAA and FAR regulations
  • Ability to read and comprehend contract language and converse with others as well as apply written and verbal vendor pricing and / or contract negotiations is a plus.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Source-to-Pay tools (e.g., Coupa)
  • RAMCO experience preferred

Salary

  • $93,450.00 to $119,135.63
