Job Description:

Dow Jones is seeking a Manager, Subscriber Lifecycle. The Manager will support the subscriber lifecycle marketing team’s goal of increasing the lifetime value of subscribers for The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch. This role will have a specific focus on driving subscriber upgrades.

The Wall Street Journal is the definitive source of news and information through the lens of business, finance, economics and money, global forces that shape the world and are key to understanding it. Barron’s covers U.S. financial information, market developments, and relevant statistics, while MarketWatch provides financial information, business news, analysis, and stock market data.

This role will report into the Associate Director, Subscriber Lifecycle and will work cross-functionally with teams across the subscription marketing funnel (Acquisition, Retention, Brand, Creative, Product).

Role based in New York City, NY. Must work from the NYC office 3x a week – mainly Tuesday through Thursday, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead integrated campaigns grounded in data designed to drive increased customer lifetime value from subscribers across The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch.
  • Set up and optimize the upselling process to determine when, where and how existing subscribers should see upsell marketing messages.
  • Work collaboratively with design, product, and operations teams to develop creative ways to improve customer lifetime value.
  • Advocate for the subscriber and employ a strategic mindset to ensure subscriber experiences are best-in-class.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end strategy and tactics for our subscriber upgrade marketing campaigns.
  • Use key data insights to develop and drive marketing strategy and communications.
  • Exercise a thorough knowledge of the brands and an ability to balance team goals with overall company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience working in a CRM marketing role. Previous acquisition or upsell/upgrade marketing experience preferred.
  • An understanding of a subscription-based business and subscription economics.
  • Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to synthesize raw data into actionable campaign optimization strategies for new and existing initiatives.
  • Outstanding cross-group collaboration, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and executive presentation skills are required.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation. A self-starter who is able to take ownership of their projects as well as come up with and pitch new ideas.
  • The ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, as well as manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • A mindset that is curious, data literate and digital first.
  • The ability to self prioritize and foresee challenges (and plan for them accordingly).
  • A passion for and understanding of Dow Jones’ brands, customers, and products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business from accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

Pay Range: $50,000 – $180,000
