Qorvo’s Trade Compliance team provides subject matter expertise on export, import, customs and sanctions laws and regulations to support Qorvo’s global business operations. This position reports directly to the Global Head of Compliance in Qorvo’s Legal Department. The successful candidate will work closely with legal, business, and operational teams and provide comprehensive advice and guidance on the application and impact of trade compliance laws on the company’s business activities. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Locations: Greensboro, NC, Dallas, TX, or San Jose, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as an internal resource and provide advice and guidance to business units and functions on trade compliance requirements, company policies and procedures.
  • Work on cross-functional projects with other business unit colleagues and trade compliance team members to ensure Qorvo’s activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and align with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and related geopolitical events that impact trade compliance and Qorvo’s business. Draft communications to notify impacted groups, as needed.
  • Support development and maintenance of working-level instructions, policies and procedures to manage trade compliance program.
  • Assist with HTS and export classification, determinations of country of origin, customs valuations, and support evaluations to minimize duty/tariff impacts on company operations.
  • Participate in and/or lead investigations and drafting disclosures.
  • Develop internal controls and audit processes for compliance, and conduct audits.
  • Assist in the management and communication with government authorities on inquiries, investigations, government submissions, etc.
  • Serve as an ITAR Empowered Official. Determine license requirements, draft and apply for licenses/permits needed to support Qorvo operations, and ensure authorizations are managed compliantly.
  • Perform restricted party screening and transaction reviews, as needed.
  • Create and deliver trade compliance training, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee/asylee) required.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with U.S. export control, sanctions and import/customs laws.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and execute timely to meet deadlines and strategic objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, judgment, interpersonal skills, including ability to take initiative, anticipate problems, work collaboratively with the flexibility to adapt.
  • Ability to interpret government regulations and apply business knowledge to daily import/export operations.
  • Background in semiconductors and microelectronics is preferred.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel is preferred.
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Licensed Customs Broker is a plus.
  • Experience with trade compliance software such as SAP GTS and denied party screening applications is a plus.

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $86,900-$113,100 (Subject to change depending on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive (s) + Benefits
