We’re seeking a passionate self-starter, who’s fluent in navigating change, to join our US Business Development Team. Part growth strategy, part operations, and project management, this rarely available role is an exciting opportunity to drive change at a leading agency while working closely with office leadership and advancing our offerings.
The ideal candidate for the role has agency experience identifying, prospecting and successfully pursuing new business opportunities, vetting, and responding to RFPs, and providing strategic counsel to executives. They are interested in driving efficiencies, examining how we present ourselves externally, and motivating teams to provide the best possible solutions for our blue chip and Fortune 100 clients.
While experience in business development at an agency is ideal, it is not required – we know that the best candidates often have unorthodox backgrounds. If you’ve spent time at a startup, in strategy, or in consulting, even better – we want you to know how to solve problems quickly and collaboratively.
Responsibilities – Growth/Business Development
- Bring the best of Edelman to bear across diverse projects and opportunities through strategic counsel and project management
- Drive content creation in partnership with top talent and leadership
- Critically evaluate and provide strategic recommendations on growth strategy and execution
- Work with key internal stakeholders to cultivate prospective relationships and convert leads
- Qualify incoming leads and create introductory presentations
- Lead research to identify white space and potential targets
- Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary pitch teams
- Help to shape RFP response/proposal content and leverage IP
- Ensure best practices and resources are socialized cross-practice and cross-office
Basic Qualifications:
- The Manager must have at least three years of relevant experience in public relations, consulting, sales, advertising, marketing, or related fields
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience, expertise, and success at the intersection of communications/marketing strategy and revenue growth
- Experience identifying and cultivating leads
- Ability to manage, inspire, and counsel multi-disciplinary, and often senior teams
- Self-starter who can balance quick wins and results with strategic planning and consensus
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and manage assignments in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
- Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, can-do attitude and outlook
- Critical problem solver with strong written and verbal communications skills, organized and detail-oriented
$59,000 – $92,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
