Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the manufacturing engineering, process engineering, programming and digitalization team. This team is responsible for developing and facilitating efficient manufacturing processes, tools and projects across the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • , establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations, establishes training and cross training plans and identifies opportunities for new skill development

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams. Coordinates and collaborates with an offshore programming team.
  • Codevelops and establishes actions to execute the manufacturing and digitalization strategies for the operation. This includes management of an effective 5-year-view capital (CAPEX) program
  • Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.
  • Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant layout changes in line with the manufacturing strategy. This includes Project Management responsibility for all such projects.
  • Handles management of change (MOC) protocols and regulations related to changes in the manufacturing space.
  • Prepares, implements and reports out on the departmental budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of process engineering, industrial engineering, and machining.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering field, required.
  • At least five years of supervisory experience, required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

This job may be based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $80,000.00-$120,000.00 and the annual incentive target is 10% of base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
