Knowledge and experience in the interaction of electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines is critical to the success of all of our team members. It is a fast paced environment where rigid manufacturing disciplines meet flexible, ever-changing technologies and specific customer needs.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Manager that will help lead a highly talented workforce build, test, and ship a high quality, efficient product through a culture of high performance.

You will be designing and modifying layouts for improved workflow, leading value stream events and continuous improvement projects, and introducing new products designed in Boulder into the manufacturing environment. As a company on the forefront of storage technology with a worldwide footprint you will be interacting with every department that impacts operations from purchasing and planning to quality and shipping, from customer service to field installation technicians, from new product development to product management and marketing.

Joining the Spectra Logic Operations Management Team will allow you to be exposed to hundreds of years of industry and manufacturing experience while being continuously challenged by the introduction of new technologies, systems, and customer demands.

What you get to do:

  • Interact with every department in the company from operations to marketing to field support.
  • Generate new tools and systems in order to solve many challenging and unique problems.
  • Develop and grow in manufacturing techniques and data analysis and then share and distribute that knowledge.
  • Introduce brand new products and technologies into the production space.
  • Put your hands on products that ship worldwide to every industry that backup the world’s data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety of team and production area.
  • Uphold quality of builds to product specifications and meet 95% FPY.
  • Schedule capacity of team to meet internal and external customer demand.
  • Hire and train new employees and cross-train current staff.
  • Meet with team members on a regular basis and manage performance.
  • Maintain procedures and processes for specific product lines.
  • Uphold performance metrics for OTD, Line Scrap, and OT.
  • Manage continuous improvement projects.
  • Review and manage PM for tools and test equipment.

What we need you to bring to the table:

  • Associate Degree or higher or equivalent level in manufacturing certifications.
  • 2+ years in a supervisor or management role.
  • 2-5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a wide range of individuals (management, technical, non-technical).
  • Project oriented with the ability to work from objectives, translating those into specific tasks and actions

It would be cool if you had:

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certifications.
  • Background in data storage or high tech industry.
  • Experience across other operational jobs such as quality, supply chain, or warehousing
