Department Summary
The Margin Assurance team in the Billing and Credit department supports the needs of DISH & DISH Wireless subscribers, agents, installers, and external departments by providing upfront analysis, back-end audit, and invoice reconciliation for enterprise for wireless services. The department uses those findings to dispute invoice errors, identify root causes of those errors, and submit invoices for executive approval and distribution by accounts payable. The department is comprised of multiple facets with specific focus on targeted operational objectives that include, but are not limited to:
- MVNO Settlements
- B2B Invoicing
- GSMA roaming processes
- Usage reconciliation
- Vendor relationship management
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Margin Assurance Manager will lead the Wireless Margin Assurance team within Billing and Credit for all invoicing, B2B billing, MNO usage, and other margin assurance for Dish Wireless. A successful candidate will have a strong focus on team and employee development, and the ability to manage multiple processes and workstreams. Also, this candidate will work on various managerial functions, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Margin Assurance team daily operations including hiring, performance evaluation, providing constructive feedback, and directing workflow, and team responsibilities
- Develops a thorough understanding of their business & financial area to serve as the Subject Matter Expert, which involves the communication of results within and outside of the department, identifying areas of improvement, and working with operations teams to help them understand financial impacts.
- Oversee settlements for MVNO and MNO roaming invoices, including working with vendors, creating disputes, understanding contracts, and GSMA processes
- Monitors and reports on invoice activity, and effectively communicates any outliers or errors
- Ensure all invoices are paid on time
- Communicate with leadership on variances, vendor relationships, contract management, and approvals
- Create ad-hoc reports as requested in a timely and accurate manner, assist leadership with various tasks and items as needed, comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times while maintaining a positive attitude
- Identify potential opportunities for process improvement and report automation using various methods, i.e. databases, spreadsheets, external data sources, IT development, and execute changes to systems with little or no impact
- Ability to engage team development and foster employee career growth
Skills, Experience and Requirements
A successful Margin Assurance Manager will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, economics, business, finance or accounting concentrations preferred, and 3-5 years experience in a finance related role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with analytical reporting, data analysis, and making recommendations based off of gathered information
- Natural curiosity to explore complex problems and offer well-thought out solutions; ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Advanced-level skill and experience with Microsoft Excel
- SQL experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, procedures and instructions, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of vendors and fellow employees
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical and non-technical instructions, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Salary Range
Compensation: $76,300.00/Year – $109,000.00/Year
