Summary
The Senior Manager, Vehicle Logistics position will be responsible for national logistics functions which include but are not limited to: shipping automobiles in the most efficient cost effective manner, vendor bids selection, vendor KPI performance tracking, shipment and ETA tracking, ramp and port dwell reporting and reduction, non-standard shipments, network optimization studies, and carrier negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Transportation Network
- Responsible for developing and enforcing GLOVIS’ vehicle handling policies and procedures for truck, rail, and ocean carriers
- Monitor carrier dwell performance at Ocean Ports, Vehicle Processing Centers, and Rail Ramps
- Take appropriate action to maintain dwell within acceptable limits
- Monitor and track vehicle shipments in transit from origins to final destinations
- Monitor and track railcar supply at Ports and Vehicle Processing Centers
- Negotiate rates and carrier contracts (truck, rail, and ocean)
- Provide guidance on RFQ preparation and assist in approving new carrier selections
- Oversee Non-Standard shipments activities (Auto shows, Off-site shuttles, Cross shipments, New OEM Accounts, etc.)
- Optimization of Carrier Routing
- Oversee logistics optimization activities in an effort to ship vehicles to destinations in the most cost-effective and expeditious manner
- Conduct quarterly optimization reviews with carriers making necessary changes to improve network performance
- Freight Invoice Processing
- Oversee all A/P and A/R invoicing and carrier rebate processing
- Club Elite
- Oversee vendor KPI reports and conduct quarterly reviews with carriers to drive continuous improvement
- Oversee and enforce countermeasure development with carriers to correct deficiencies and improve performance
- Set annual, quarterly, and monthly carrier performance targets to support GLOVIS’ annual business plan objectives
- Staff Development
- Directs the Vehicles Logistics HQ and Field staff in the execution of logistics activity in support of GLOVIS and its customer’s wholesale goals
- Develop and mentor the logistics staff to help meet personal and professional goals
- Vehicle Logistics Projects
- Create ad hoc reports for executive management when requested
- Special Project requests from executive management
- ISO 9000 Internal Audit review preparation and management
- Core Project Management
- Manage all facets of Glovis Korea and Hyundai Auto Group Audits and Reviews
- Other Duties as Assigned
Compensation Range
- $107,000 – $122,000 per year

Qualifications
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient level PC skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with experience using Database Systems is highly preferred
- Strong ability to identify and correct errors
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to train and mentor new employees
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required; Masters Degree Preferred
- Four (4) – Seven (7) Years of Supervisory Experience Required
- Eight (8) – Twelve (12) Years of Experience in Logistics, Processing Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Automotive Industry Required
- Ten (10) – Fifteen (15) Years of Experience in Logistics, Processing Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Automotive Industry Preferred
