Summary:

Collect and analyze data needed to create and develop regional strategies focused on the Americas, particularly the United States, to promote further business growth for the Hitachi Group in the Americas. He/she will also prepare presentations using PowerPoint, Word, etc. based on the results of such analysis. We are looking for someone who is interested not only in analyzing data, but also in participating in the development of the Hitachi Group’s regional strategy for the Americas in the next decade.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Use frameworks such as SWOT, PEST and 3C, analyze the macro environment that impacts the Hitachi Group in the U.S., and gain and present insights into the business areas Hitachi should focus on in the next decade based on the Hitachi Group’s mission, vision, and values and strategic priorities.
  • Approach market analysis from the perspective of societal problems to be solved by Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business.
  • Identify and prioritize regions and states that Hitachi should focus on in the next decade, after establishing appropriate criteria based on the results of the macro-environment analysis and where the Hitachi Group is currently positioned
  • Conduct further in-depth analysis of the market environment in the focus states to identify business areas that Hitachi should prioritize, including competitive, industry and sector analyses.
  • Conduct information-gathering activities through interviews with relevant stakeholders in the community, and participate in activities of local advocacy groups, etc.
  • Prepare visualizations, diagrams, charts and other visual aids that clearly illustrate the results of the research and analysis in an easy-to-understand format, such as a PowerPoint presentation; this will be an essential part of the content in the overall presentation of the regional strategy.
  • In addition to searching the Internet for information, consider using research firm reports and other desktop research services and tools as needed.
  • Promote information gathering and analysis in collaboration with stakeholders at Hitachi, Ltd.’s Washington, DC corporate office and Hitachi Group operating companies based in the Americas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Marketing, or related field
  • Proven Market Research Analysis experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the market analysis frameworks
  • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
  • Powerful visualization skills with e.g., PowerPoint
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $66,400 – $83,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
