Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services firm located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
Content & Creative Services (CCS) is responsible for creating compelling communications that support CPG’s strategic plan and our three lines of business. Using traditional and digital media, CCS will give voice to our work by broadcasting key messages, developing curricula, sharing information, and helping business partners drive engagement with the products, programs, and services that CPG offers.
The Marketing and Social Media Writer will be responsible for developing marketing-related content in support of business unit marketing needs, overseeing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn), and executing all aspects of maintaining these platforms in collaboration with our Social Media Council and Creative Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Write promotional emails and marketing materials
- Prepare conference, webinar, and event email invitations
- Create copy for print and digital advertising
- Oversee operations and administration of social media platforms (i.e., content development, posting, promoting/boosting, advertising, monitoring, and metrics)
- Develop social media editorial calendars and manage weekly engagement report
- Develop tactics to increase social media engagement

- Experience writing promotional marketing content
- Experience overseeing and executing the administration of social media platforms and developing engagement strategies
- Outstanding written and oral communications
- Experience line editing, copyediting, and proofreading
- In-depth knowledge of English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Working familiarity with The Associated Press Stylebook and/or The Chicago Manual of Style
- Ability to think critically and to clearly communicate abstract or complex issues, ideas, challenges, and solutions
- A proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to quickly garner an understanding of CPG’s lines of business, its operations, and its products, programs, and services
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BABS or combination of education and experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Hybrid (two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment). Salary Range: $80,400 – $104,600
