Redwood Credit Unions is looking for an Assistant Manager of Marketing who will be responsible for creating and executing the quarterly product marketing plans and budgets and supervise assigned staff to successfully implement and monitor comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns. The Assistant Manager ensures all channels and mediums are well branded and integrated.
Marketing Responsibilities
• Working closely with the Marketing Manager and product marketing staff, initiates, supervises, coordinates, develops, executes, monitors & communicates all aspects of marketing campaigns & other assigned campaigns/projects. Includes working with assigned staff, stakeholders & agency partners.
• Responsible for developing and overseeing assigned marketing campaigns for the Credit Union and RCU’s wholly owned subsidiary RCUSG.
• Tracking and reporting on results and ROI
• Makes recommendations regarding media presence (online, print, radio, broadcast, etc.) for the Credit Union, including planning, organizing, negotiating, and buying media within defined budget.
• Directs and executes diverse marketing efforts including online, mobile, print, direct mail, radio, television, website, email, outdoor, social media, and other mediums. Responsibilities also including overseeing and managing the Member testimonials photo and video program.
• Monitors competitive landscape and practices to identify and drive new ideas. Incorporates market changes into methods and materials to ensure relevant marketing and communications and to maximize impact.
• Works with direct reports and the Data and Digital Group staff to ensure effective use of the Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) and other data for superior targeted marketing and enhanced decision making that lead to exceptional results while maximizing efficiencies

Marketing Management
• Supervision of assigned staff and departmental processes. Includes hiring, training, coaching, developing, and monitoring performance. Also includes performance management up to and including termination (with support from Marketing Manager).
• Responsible for creating, developing, and engaging a high performing team that is effective, results-oriented, engaged, and passionate about their work and the organization and maintains high morale and service standards.
• Creates, communicates, coordinates, and ensures consistency in execution of RCU’s and RCUSG’s brand, and ensures effective, consistent, efficient, and well-coordinated campaigns and marketing efforts amongst all product lines.
• Conducts performance evaluations and recommends merit increases for assigned staff. Supervise and manage performances of staff including recognition, discipline, and termination, as needed with support of Marketing Manager.
• Assists, supports, and serves in the absence of the Marketing Manager. In the event of natural disaster or emergency, serves as key resource to the Marketing Department and organization.
• Assists with a variety of quality control and proofreading tasks and other marketing support as requested.
• Provides excellent service to Members, Officials, management, staff, vendors, and community and ensures positive relationships with a diverse group of people.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Staff management practices and techniques or ability to learn/acquire these skills, including the ability to hire, supervise, train, motivate and direct the work of others. Ability to supervise a team that is positive, productive, and engaged in their daily work.
- Management of marketing campaigns, projects, and processes and that of direct reports.
- Management and implementation of online and mobile marketing initiatives.
- Strong management, organizational, planning, and project management skills, including use of proven tools and techniques for managing multiple priorities and projects and ensuring efforts are delivered in a quality fashion, on time, and within prescribed resources.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Strong knowledge of financial services marketing principles, practices, rules, regulations, products, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of diverse and modern marketing concepts, including promotion, consumer behavior, planning, segmentation, demographics, website/internet marketing, direct marketing, mobile and social media.
- Strong knowledge of technology including online marketing, websites, mobile, social media, SEM & SEO.
- Skill in the operations of a PC with internet/intranet, operating system, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, multi-media, websites/online tools, content management systems, mobile systems, image, and publishing software.
- Excellent communication abilities both verbally and in writing including public speaking. Excellent command of the English language including grammar and punctuation.
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of six years of related experience to include management of staff and/or processes, marketing campaigns, project management, writing, online techniques, database/targeting experience, website/internet/email/ mobile marketing, and social media. Experience with market research and campaign management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana) preferred. Bilingual abilities also preferred, but not required.
Compensation: Base starting range: $92,705.60 to $122,149.01 annually commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
