MANAGER MARKETING CONTROLS & MONITORING LEAD
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Manager of Marketing Controls & Monitoring will work as part of the Sales Strategy, Engagement, and Experience team to lead the development and implementation of heightened standards controls and monitoring for City National Rochdale (CNR) marketing programs. This individual will serve as an expert resource that strategically identifies risks and controls associated with existing and new programs, defines control monitoring and reporting protocols, and leads any necessary remediations. The role will coordinate with various wealth management functions within CNR and its parent companies, City National Bank (‘CNB’) and Royal Bank of Canada (‘RBC’).

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- This role is responsible for establishing and leading the marketing controls and monitoring function within the sales strategy, engagement, and client experience organization (e.g. marketing).
- The successful candidate will be responsible for both strategic thought leadership and tactical monitoring, reporting, and remediation of any established controls.
- Utilize understanding of heightened standards regulatory requirements, industry dynamics, and business processes to identify potential compliance, operational, and strategic risks that may manifest within existing and new programs.
- Define control actions to be implemented within the first line of defense for each risk as well as parameters for acceptable risks vs. those requiring remediation.
- Determine and execute appropriate monitoring of identified risks to understand and report any breakages
- Remediate any breakages outside of acceptable risk parameters and redevelop controls to eliminate likelihood of recurrence
- Culminate all deliverables into living desktop controls documentation Collaborate with various parties within and across organization to align policies, incorporate best practices and serve as key liaison for the team for all items related to heightened standards implementation.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

- Minimum 5 years working in compliance/control related function for financial services marketing programs
- Minimum 7 years experience managing projects.
Skills and Knowledge
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degree, highly preferred.
- Experience addressing complex regulatory requirements as it relates to investment solutions in large scale financial services organization.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, to achieve goals without direct control over resources.
- Defining and deconstructing problems.
- Prioritizing issues and analysis.
- Knowledge in Financial Services, Project Management.
- Demonstrated ability to Influence change, build relationships, communicate effectively, work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver high caliber results.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- An outstanding ability to analyze data / problems, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams.
- Quick learning ability, and a structured way of thinking. Your attention to details is exceptional.
- Operate well under stress, even faced with tight timelines for ambitious deliverables.
- Significant experience in driving operational change with front line to senior leadership personnel.
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide clarity within complex and unfamiliar situations.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $122,548 – $208,711 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
