Job Overview

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day logistical planning and execution of Denver Union Station events/activations and functional management of social media. This individual provides graphic design for station promotions and branding, is the operational marketing liaison to supporting third-party tenants, and supports the Marketing Director with administrative duties including maintaining Union Station’s social presence, website, and emails as well as assisting with photoshoots, donation requests, reputation management, invoice facilitation, budget tracking, and management of the Union Station inquiry inbox.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing and Social Media

  • Support the Director of Marketing on the tactical execution of the station-wide social media strategy, which will include the scheduling and execution of:
    • Photography and videography shoots
    • Website, Blog, and Newsletter updates and design
    • Social media calendar management

Branding and Graphic Design

  • Synthesize creative direction of leadership to design visual identity branding materials for Denver Union Station
  • Design projects may include digital and print ads, brochures, vouchers, menus, sales materials, email campaigns, and signage
  • Possess a strong visual and branding aesthetic with a refined taste level
  • An innovative, creative thinker who understands the power of compelling brand storytelling-in written copy, images, video, and beyond

Strategic Partnerships, Events, and Public Relations

  • Supports all community-focused events and marketing deliverables for revenue-driving events that are managed by the GM of Events and Director of Marketing, to include:
    • Budget tracking and invoice processing
    • Vendor research and day-to-day communication
    • Event signage and collateral
    • Onsite support
    • Sending a comprehensive Run of Show at least 7-10 days prior to the event
    • Communicate events station-wide; ensure all internal team members and third-party tenants are aware of events and activations through standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Work with PR representative to maintain and update event listings on all third-party sites, such as VISIT DENVER, Do303, and other partner sites

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manages the Denver Union Station email inbox; act as customer service representative by responding to inquiries, customer complaints, social media feedback, etc.
  • Manages lighting and lighting requests of Union Station building
  • Monitors chatter across social media and digital PR outlets

Requirements

  • College degree and 1-3 years of work experience in marketing, public relations, design, business, communication, journalism, or a field with a transferable skill set
  • Some graphic design experience
  • A highly motivated self-starter; a willing learner
  • Strong project management skills including prioritization and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Willing and able to work nontraditional hours including evenings and weekends when necessary, including some holidays
  • Willing and able to work events, which include several hours on feet and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and skills in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field preferred.

Experience

One+ year(s) of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s). Previous event management experience a plus.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume creative environment.
  • Bending/kneeling – repeated bending and kneeling required while filing.
  • Mobility – must be able to reach all areas of hotel and building locations to assist clients.
  • Requires sitting most of the time, but does entail walking, standing and carrying of up to 15 pounds short distances.
  • Requires a significant amount of repetitive motion for typing on a keyboard
