Barnes & Noble Education is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Marketing Events Coordinator to join our dynamic, growing team! As a Marketing Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining our industry events calendar, managing registrations of our staff, booth registration, planning and logistics, content and design, plus pre- and post-event client and prospect communication campaigns across multiple channels (social and email promotions). You will work closely with our sales and field teams to prepare them for the event, allowing the team to use their on-site time efficiently to staff the booth, meet with clients and prospects and drive business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Maintain industry events calendar
- Manage individual event plans
- Manage BNC participation at events, ensure alignment with our demand gen strategy
- Manage all logistics: Asset sharing, content development, booth design, shipping, on-site orders (electric, Wi-Fi, other)
- Produce event marketing content, working with BNC designers and writers
- Coordinate details with client partners who may join us at events
- Host pre-event meetings with internal attendees and post-event recap sessions
- Evaluate the presence of our competitors at industry events
- Organize post-event reporting and lead collection
- Additional responsibilities as required
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field required
- 2-4 years’ experience in events management
- Working knowledge MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Salesforce, Pardot and On24 webinar platforms preferred
- Strategic thinker and innovative problem solver with and proactive and self-motivated mindset
- Ability to take initiative, work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a data driven and results focused mentality
- Strong organization and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel to priority conferences (<10% of time) and be available (rarely) during off hours to consult with on-site teams during booth-set up or break down
How We Elevate Our Employees
The hiring rate for this position is $18 – $24 / hour. The actual pay may vary based on a number of factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, competencies, and may fall outside of the range shown. This is a part-time position (25 hours / week) and is not eligible for benefits with Barnes & Noble Education.
