Marketing Lead (ONSITE – 25 hours/week)

SUMMARY

Our Marketing Lead will create and carry out marketing strategies and digital content that help people outside the church take next steps towards the church and faith, and engage people within the church to take their next steps on the discipleship pathway.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  1. Strategy & Branding
    Lead C3’s digital strategy to help people meet, know and follow Jesus. This includes oversite of C3’s digital and print marketing campaigns as well as coordinating development of marketing and communications materials with our Graphic Designer.
  2. Marketing & Public Relations
    Work with our Graphic Designer to oversee digital and physical marketing efforts. Determine and track digital metrics that inform the decision-making process related to current and future digital marketing strategies. Plan and lead digital campaigns on our mobile app, social media, TV, radio and other digital marketplaces.
  3. Organizational Support
    Work with all departments at C3 to encourage and implement marketing, procure digital content and move people towards engagement. Maintain the overall church calendar of events. Ensure marketing campaigns are carried out per our Marketing Tier communication plan.
    1. Operations (“central services”)
      Oversee, implement our tiered marketing system, always striving to improve it. Design a bi-monthly e-mail for congregants in our StudioC platform (which you will become an expert in!)
    2. Services
      Coordinate with leaders to ensure that consistent marketing messages are being communicated. Help with setup of our livestream platforms. Coordinate bulk e-mails that keep our volunteers in the loop.
    3. Kids Ministry
      Marketing communication with kids and parents regarding upcoming events, including a monthly parents’ e-mail.
    4. Next Steps
      Through use of our StudioC platform and others, develop and implement the digital strategies that will help people move from exposure to C3 to taking next steps that connect them to the church and to the church’s discipleship pathway. Come alongside this team to develop and produce quality outreach and engagement campaigns.
    5. Volunteer/Staff Team Leadership & Development: Consider serving on the Livestream Chat Team one Sunday per month.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Marketing Lead agrees and aligns with C3’s vision and values, with the ability to understand and translate C3’s ministry strategy and approach into the digital space. This role is a strategic thinker with the ability to envision, develop systems and processes, implement and drive projects and strategies through to completion. This will be accompanied by:

  • Regularly attending C3 Tri-Cities in person on the Sundays you are in town.
  • Demonstrating spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the marketing field, including the use of social media. Strong understanding of marketing and content strategies for connecting with people and leading them on a journey. Completion of marketing training and/or a degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills/data-driven thinking. Ability to use online analytics tools to identify trends to optimize spend and performance based on insights, and the ability to manage a budget. At least 2 years’ experience with SEO and Google Analytics. Certifications in these areas is preferred.
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills. Ability to write engaging marketing text that inspires a specific target audience.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed problem solver requiring minimal supervision.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience with website builders is preferred.
  • Graphic design and Asana experience is a plus.

Required Hours: 25 hours per week.

Approximate breakdown of hours:

  • 15 hours/week: StudioC mobile app dashboard and email marketing tool content creation and scheduling.
  • 3 hours/week: Social media content creation and scheduling, including prep work for our livestream services.
  • 3 hours/week: Additional marketing for department and all-church events
  • 2 hours/week: Digital platform analytics and reporting
  • 1 hour/week: Coordination with Graphic Designer
  • 1 hour/week: Meetings (1:1 with supervisor and marketing meetings with individual departments)

Work Location: Preferably onsite. Some remote work is possible when needed.
