This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Materials (Continuous improvement) Lead. The role is for our Fall River, MA location. As a Materials – CI Lead, you will work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. As the continuous improvement lead, you will rely on your previous manufacturing experience to drive continuous improvement around the facility, reduce waste in the process, create and design robust processes, and improve efficiency in the value stream. You will show improvement through process measurements and documentation, tangible and factual measurements (time reduction, dollar reduction, downtime reduction, reduction in errors, reduction in defects, etc). Upon creating a new process, standardized work instructions will be developed and trained, in order to maintain a sustainable process, all through a focus on the 5S methodology.

Hourly Rate: $29.00

Work Hours: 8 AM – 4:30 PM

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing the changes in layout, process, carts, racks to improve materials storage and flow.
  • Managing the relationship between the internal teams at the plant for the improvements to be successfully implemented
  • KPI and KAI tracking and projects documentation
  • Responsible for completing physical inventory
  • Must report any violations of any of the following: Safety guidelines, Quality guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum requirements

  • Associates degree
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience including data management (6 Sigma Black Belt, SAP, or other MRP system)

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Strong data acquisition, analysis, and knowledge building skills
  • WCM / Lean Methodology knowledge
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Core tools knowledge (Autocad)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership skills, able to create and work with interdisciplinary teams
  • Sense of urgency and highly creative.
  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
  • Strong computer skills (Excel)
