General Description:
Performs shipping and receiving tasks as required to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers. Participates in the development of Cycle Counting procedures and execution. Adjusts work schedule as necessary to meet special order requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises transport of materials to and from departments.
- Ensures material needs are met throughout the organization.
- Prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipment.
- Creates shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels and export paperwork.
- Coordinates with production departments to maximize completeness of shipments.
- Maintains communications within the Shipping/Receiving area.
- Coordinates and participates in both Domestic and International freight forwarder transactions.
- Maintain inventory organization and organization of all shipping paperwork.
- Instructs others in the preparation and movement of material.
- Maintains shipment files, issues reports, and responds to customer inquiries/issues.
- Routes outgoing shipments through various freight forwarders and schedules and transportation of shipments.
- Maximizes freight utilization to minimize costs.
- Performs a variety of duties to support the shipping department and freight forwarder to assure on-time shipments.
- Investigates and initiates corrective actions for all non-conformance.
- Ensures shipping area equipment is safe and properly maintained.
- Maintain all housekeeping/safety standards.
- Maintain condition of outside lot and storage.
- Confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks.
- Manage scheduling variances.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years related experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- MSOffice experience
- Ability to read and interpret assembly and quality instructions
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to read mechanical and technical drawings
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency skills
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Forklift certification required
