ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates well with guests in person and on the phone to ensure accuracy of order and guest satisfaction.
- Assists in answering phone and taking to go orders.
- Knowledge of the meats and market items and demonstrates suggestive selling techniques.
- Prepares and packages high quality meat market orders.
- Maintains cleanliness and presentation of meat coolers.
- Keeps track of outdated products and notifies management when products are reaching outdates.
- Communicates with management when meat items need replenished.
- Helps prepare on-line and to go orders and ensures accuracy of each order.
- Cuts special meats with high quality presentation.
- Utilizes safe and efficient knife skills to cut and package smoked meats to order.
- Weighs meats to exact specifications.
- Accurately completes transfer sheets.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the meat market area.
- Completes market prep items in a timely manner.
- Assists on the line when needed.
- Observes safety and security standards.
Education and/or Experience
Food Handler Certificate required.
Prior Meat Market experience preferred.
Ability to listen, read, write and speak fluently in English for all job related circumstances.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
While performing the duties of this job, he/she is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. He/she is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. He/she must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
